At Stone Summit, safety is our top priority.

Safety is our top priorty
Indoor climbing involves risk. However, this risk can be mitigated if you learn and consistently apply all the necessary safety procedures. Observing these safety precautions will help you create a fun and engaging sport that you can enjoy over your lifetime.

At Stone Summit, safety is our top priority. Our staff will do their best to monitor the climbing area, but we emphasize personal responsibility and proper training. Though we have several procedures in place to ensure that all our customers will be safe, please recognize that your safety is entirely in your own hands. Also, please observe the following Stone Summit Safety precautions:
All climbers must check in at the front desk before entering the facility
No one is permitted to belay or tie themselves in to a rope until they pass the Stone Summit safety check
Climbers under the age of 12 may NOT belay or tie themselves in to a rope, except for those who are either approved members of the Stone Summit climbing team or current members of SCS
Lead Climbing and Lead belaying is not allowed without first passing the Stone Summit Lead Test
Please ask for details about this test upon checking in
Must be at least 18 years of age to lead climb or lead belay, except for those who are either approved members of the Stone Summit Climbing team or current members of SCS within the B category or higher
All belayers must stand. Sitting or laying while belaying is not permitted. Tightening, loosening, or moving holds in any manner is not allowed without authorization of a Stone Summit manager
Please report loose holds, bad wear spots on ropes, or any issue you believe to be a safety hazard
If you bring your own climbing equipment, only commercially manufactured climbing equipment in good condition is allowed
Auto-Belays are for staff and those members who are properly trained by staff
Our climbing area floor is covered with a thick 6 inch, 3-layer padded foam
Our bouldering areas also have the same 12 inch, 3-layer foam floor; remember to spot all climbers in the bouldering area
